Inner strength

Posted by Allison

“I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles.” – Audrey Hepburn

Strength comes in all different forms and can mean so many different things to so many different people. Strength isn’t just how many push-ups you can do or how long you can run; it truly comes from within you.

We use our strength in different ways all day, every day. Recently I found my strength in leaping to follow a dream I have had for a very long time. I was very excited, scared, and nervous to pursue this dream, but I reached down into my inner self and have found the courage to pursue it. The strength and courage we find inside ourselves can be scary and exciting. Most of the time, we didn’t even know it was there until life throws you a curveball. During these tough times, instead of saying why is this happening to me, you need to take a moment, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and find your inner strength. Instead of crying about it, you smile and know you can conquer this. Then, by sticking a smile on your curveball, you will know you have found your inner strength, and you will feel so much stronger.

Every time I walk into the barn, I not only see but feel the strength of those around me. Some of the most influential people I know are sweating right next to me. Each week in the summer, we are asked to dig deep inside and find our inner strength as we are presented with our weekly challenges. Strength in numbers is truly powerful. I know I probably wouldn’t do a burpee challenge alone or push myself to sign up for a 90 minute class on a Saturday morning if it was not for all the strong people beside me encouraging me to do it. Together we are continuously challenging ourselves to do things we never thought we were strong enough to do, and that is truly powerful.

So I challenge you this week to take a moment and find your inner strength, whether it is emotional or physical. Stop, breath, listen, and you will see and feel all the strength you didn’t even know you had right inside you.

FITNESS. LIFE. HAPPY HOUR.
